Summary of Chief Economists April Roundtable
The Chief Economists of The Montreal Group recently gathered for a virtual roundtable to share updates and forecasts for the macroeconomic and political situation in their countries.
The group welcomed a new representative from Brazilian Bank of Development (BNDES), Ricardo de Menezes Barboza. Mr de Menezes Barboza is Manager of Economic Research at BNDES. He will be replacing Fabio Giambiagi in the Chief Economists group. We sincerely thank Mr. Giambiagi for all his contributions to the group in the last years!
This session also marked the first roundtable in which British Business Bank (BBB) Director and Senior Economist, Matt Adey, attended as an official member of The Montreal Group. Mr Adey has been a valuable guest at these roundtables since their inception.
We had representatives from Bpifrance, Finnvera Oyj, British Business Bank, BNDES, Development Bank of Nigeria Plc, Wallonie Entreprendre, and Saudi Industrial Development Fund – SIDF.
Our Head of Operations and Sustainability, Mabel González, also shared an update on the work being done towards the publication of the group’s paper on impact measurement. Impact measurement has been the focus of the Chief Economists key topic group in the last year, and it is one of the highest priorities of the members of The Montreal Group.
