Summary of Chief Economists September Roundtable

The Chief Economists of The Montreal Group recently gathered for a virtual roundtable to discuss the findings of the Impact Measurement Paper.

The group welcomed a new representative from the Brazilian Bank of Development (BNDES), Raphael Simas Zylberberg. Mr. de Simas Zylberberg is an Economist at BNDES. He will be replacing Ricardo de Menezes Barboza in the Chief Economists group. We sincerely thank Mr. Menezes Barboza for his contributions to the group in the last months!

Mathieu Galliot, Economist at BDC, and Raphaël Cottin, Economist at Bpifrance presented the findings of the Impact Measurement Paper which had contribution from the 12 members of the Montreal Groupe and three external members, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (Italy), Instituto de Credito Oficial (Spain), and Japan Finance Corporation (Japan).

The group agreed the report will serve as a tool for TMG members to evaluate and improve their own measurement methods. The also agreed to continue the research in the next months, to be able to identify the most optimal methodologies.

In October, TMG will organize a webinar for the official launch of the Impact Measurement Paper.

We had representatives from BDC, BNDES, Bpifrance, CDP, DBN, Finnvera, JFC, SIDF, Tamwilcom, and Wallonie Entreprendre.
