TMG held its Annual General Meeting on April 15th, solidifying the foundation for 2026

The Montreal Group had a successful Annual General Meeting this past week. Board members from this community of now 14 public development banks across five continents – BDC (Canada), BBB (UK), BNDES (Brazil), Bpifrance, CDB (China), CDP (Italy), DBN (Nigeria), Finnvera (Finland), HDB (Greece), Nafin (Mexico), SIDBI (India), SIDF (Saudi Arabia), Tamwilcom (Morocco), and Wallonie Entreprendre (Belgium) – came together (virtually) to review the highlights from 2025 and align on TMG’s work plan for 2026.

Highlights from the AGM included:

  • A review of TMG’s 2026 Events Calendar, with details on what has been planned for TMG’s four working groups and its Annual Summit
  • An overview of TMG’s research agenda for 2026
  • A roundtable discussion where Board members shared their institutional priorities for the year ahead
  • A presentation from Kristen McLeod, Chief Strategy Officer at British Business Bank, on BBB’s first ever Five-Year Strategic Plan
  • A synopsis of the Twinning Pilot Program, a member-inspired initiative, where two TMG members will form a working duo to deepen bilateral knowledge on shared strategic priorities
  • The welcoming of the Hellenic Development Bank (HDB) as TMG’s newest member and of Ismini Papakirillou, CEO of HDB, as the newest director of the Board.

As we look ahead, our goal at The Montreal Group is to build on the momentum of 2025 and deepen
and broaden our member engagement to ensure that we are energizing The Montreal Group community in a
way that will lead to even more tangible benefits for our SMEs.

We thank all our Board members for their ongoing support and guidance, and we look forward a successful 2026!
