TMG at the 2024 SME Finance Forum Conference

The Montreal Group completed its Annual Summit by collaborating with the SME Finance Forum Conference this year, which explored AI’s transformative role in accelerating digital-sustainable transitions in SME finance – A topic that is top of mind to members as we look for new and better ways of supporting SMEs.

TMG contributed to the rich conference agenda through active participation in the following sessions:

  • Pierre Cléroux, VP, Research and Economist at BDC, and Giovanni Mandras, Senior Economist at CDP, took the stage at the “Sustainable SME finance” innovation hub to present key highlights of TMG’s Chief Economists paper on “Unlocking the decarbonization of SMEs”.
  • Jean-Pierre Di Bartoloméo, Executive Committee Member at Wallonie Entreprendre, was part of a roundtable on “Measuring SME sustainability: Challenges and opportunities”, where he shared the Wallonie Entreprendre experience.
  • Karen Kastner, Secretary General, took part in a roundtable to discuss “The evolving nature of financial and risk mitigation instruments for SMEs” where she shared the experience of some TMG members on their behalf.
  • Other key highlights from the event included the winning of two awards by DBN, and the recognition of TMG as a key partner of the SME Finance Forum.

As we conclude five days of meetings, solution-oriented sessions and networking opportunities, we thank our members and partners for their collaboration. We must continue working together for the benefit of SMEs.
