TMG will be in Helsinki, Finland next week for its Annual Summit

Next week, members of The Montreal Group will gather in Helsinki, Finland, for TMG Summit 2026, hosted in partnership with TMG member, Finnvera.

The theme of this year’s annual gathering – Creating Resilience for SME Success, Part II: From Intent to Impact – builds on a dialogue that started at The Montreal Group’s 2025 Summit, where TMG members discussed the geopolitical, economic and technological challenges that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) were facing.  These challenges have not disappeared.  If anything, they have increased.  Given this reality, the focus of the 2026 Summit will be on how this global community of public development banks can help SMEs not only survive , but thrive, in this environment.

Over two days of discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and a workshop, participants will examine several topics shaping the future of SME development, including:

  1. Strengthening SME resilience in an unpredictable world
  2. Innovation, technology, and AI adoption
  3. Market diversification
  4. The role public development banks can play in helping SMEs scale

The Summit will also provide an opportunity to learn from Finland’s innovation ecosystem through perspectives from Finnish institutions, experts, and business leaders.

Beyond the discussions themselves, the Summit is about bringing members together to exchange ideas, share experiences, and learn from one another. As public development banks continue to navigate shared challenges and opportunities, these conversations play an important role in strengthening collaboration across the TMG network.

We’re excited to welcome participants to Helsinki, reconnect with colleagues and partners from around the world, and continue building on the relationships and knowledge that help drive impact for SMEs. We look forward to sharing highlights and insights from the Summit in the weeks ahead.
